In 2009/10 we received 155 new enquires (21.1% above target)of which 89 (1.1% above target) became cases. We assisted 311 new clients (12.3% above target) of which 239 (7.7% above target) were involved in cases.
The number of enquiries exceeded each of the previous five years and the number of cases exceeded three of the previous five years.
Enquiries came from every ward within Ealing borough - with the most clients coming from Perivale and Northolt Mandeville wards and the least from Walpole ward.
Of the 89 cases received, 82% were from referral agencies and 18% were self referrals. The most prolific referral agency was Ealing Police.
Of the 311 clients we assisted in 2009/10, 130 (41.8%) were male and 181 (58.2%) were female.
Of those 311 clients, 256 were known to live in Ealing borough or be Ealing's responsibility. The remainder were referrals from other West London boroughs, paid for by the referring agency.
Of the 252 clients, where ethnicity was disclosed to us, 66.6% were from BME or non- White UK communities and 33.3% were known to be White UK.
Of the 156 clients where their age group was disclosed to us, 25.6% were known to be age 65 and over and 1.3% under the age of 16.
Of the 115 clients where their mobility/health status was disclosed to us, 33% had a declared disability or debilitating condition.
Of the 221 clients where their tenure was disclosed to us, 60.6% were from the public sector.
In 2009/10 43.9% of all enquires related to noise nuisance, 13.55% to boundary/property problems, 9.7% to harassment/abusive behaviour, 10.35% to general anti-social behaviour, 3.9% to gardens/ untidiness/ rubbish, 3.2% to cars/parking/garages, 4.5% to children's behaviour, 7.7% related to various other issues and 3.2% were undisclosed.
